What Does Gutter Installation Cost in Atlanta?

Footage, height and downspouts drive most of the price. The ranges below show where a fair number lands, and what pushes it higher.

Cost per foot by material

No independent survey publishes Atlanta gutter prices, so these are the ranges published national price guides show for installed gutters in 2025 and 2026. Use them as a yardstick when you read a metro Atlanta quote, not as a price list.

MaterialInstalled, per footNotes
Aluminum, K-style$8 to $20The usual choice for one-piece gutters. Where a quote lands in this band depends on size, height and what else it covers.
Copper$15 to $40Half-round and K-style. Soldered joints and copper fittings all the way down.
Vinyl$3 to $12Mostly sold as sections for do-it-yourself installs; the low end is material alone.

National figures, not an Atlanta survey. The installer's measurement of your roof edge is what turns a range into a price.

Why published prices disagree

Look up gutter prices and you'll find per-foot figures from a few dollars to over $20 for the same aluminum gutter. The numbers aren't measuring the same thing. Some quote material alone, some include labor, some fold in downspouts and removal, and few say whether they mean a ranch or a two-story house.

So compare like with like. Strip a quote down to the gutter itself, per foot, at the same height, before setting it next to any range.

What two typical houses come to

A gutter manufacturer puts the average home at about 150 feet of gutter and a ranch at about 110. Using the aluminum range above, rough math looks like this:

  • One-story ranch, 110 feet: about $900 to $2,200 for the gutters, before downspouts.
  • Two-story house, 150 feet: about $1,350 to $3,450, adding $1 to $3 a foot for the height.

These are estimates from national ranges, not quotes.

Most of what moves a gutter quote sits in these lines, from the same national guides.

Line on the quoteTypical costWhy
Second story$1 to $3 more per footTaller ladders or staging, and slower work.
Half-round instead of K-style$1 to $2 more per footA different profile and brackets.
One-piece instead of sectional$3 to $5 more per footThe forming machine and a run cut to each wall.
Each downspout$30 to $75Including its elbows; extensions and splash blocks cost extra.
Taking down old gutters$50 to $200Removal and haul-away, if it is not already in the price.
Replacing rotted fascia$5 to $12 per footOnly where boards fail the screwdriver test.

Guards: price ranges by type

Guard prices fall into three tiers. At the bottom, do-it-yourself guards: in Consumer Reports' 2010 test they ran from about 30 cents to $9 a foot for the product alone. In the middle, a local installer putting on screens or covers: Consumers' Checkbook found screens at about $3 to $5 a foot installed and covers at $7 to $12 in its 2023 survey. At the top, national dealer systems, which ran $20 to $30 a foot when Consumer Reports bought them in 2010.

One more route sits between the bottom and the middle: a store-bought guard put up by a contractor. Consumer Reports put that labor at about $100 to $500 for an average-sized house, in the same 2010 test, so it suits someone who has already picked a guard and doesn't want to climb.

The gutter guard comparison covers which design suits which trees.

What makes a quote go up

Beyond footage and height, these are the lines that move it.

A real number for your roof comes from the measuring visit.

  • Corners

Every inside and outside corner is a miter that has to be cut and sealed, so a house with a lot of jogs costs more per foot than a plain rectangle.

  • A steep roof

It slows the work and can call for a bigger gutter, since sizing tables count a steep roof as more area.

  • Downspouts and drains

More downspouts, bigger 3x4s, extensions and any buried line each add a line.

  • Color and material

Color matching, half-round profiles and copper all cost more than standard white K-style aluminum.

When a higher price buys something real

A bigger number isn't always padding. These lines cost more up front and pay it back in a gutter that hangs straight and lasts.

Line on the quoteWhat the extra money buysMore on it
.032 aluminum instead of .027 Heavier metal for runs under big trees, where the gutter carries wet debris and takes the odd ladder. Materials guide
6-inch gutter and 3x4 downspouts Room for a big or steep roof's water in a summer cloudburst. Size guide
Hidden hangers 24 inches apart or closer A run that stays put. One maker says its screwed hidden hanger resists loosening over time. Gutter repair
Rotted fascia replaced first Wood the hangers can bite into. Gutter makers' install steps say to repair or replace bad fascia before the new gutter goes up. Fascia repair
One-piece runs instead of sections Joints only at the corners, the ends and the outlets, where sectional gutter has one every 10 feet. One-piece gutters
A written workmanship warranty Cover for the install itself. The coil maker's finish warranty covers the paint, not the work. Gutter questions

Questions about gutter prices

Is my quote too high?
Take the per-foot price after pulling out downspouts, removal and fascia work, then check it against the ranges above for the same material and height. If it is high, look for the upgrades in the table above; those are the lines that justify a bigger number. The quote checklist lists every line worth seeing.
Why does the big-brand guard cost more?
Price reflects how it's sold as much as what it is. In Consumer Reports' 2010 test, pro-installed systems ran $20 to $30 a foot when do-it-yourself guards cost a few dollars, the dealer price usually covered return visits for clogs, and the top do-it-yourself screens did as well or better in heavy rain.

A short call about how tall the house is and which sides need gutters is all it takes to book the visit that turns these ranges into your price.
